TERMS AND CONDITIONS
ABOUT US
Doncaster Driving School is the trading name of Doncaster Driving Services Limited and shall be referred to throughout these terms of business as DDS.
DDS engages directly with individual franchised driving instructors, who are self-employed and act in their capacity as franchisees of DDS under the terms of a franchise agreement between DDS and the instructor. The contract for driving tuition is solely between you and your instructor.
LEARNER DRIVER – Terms and Conditions
In order to take driving lessons you must:
-
Be aged 17 or older (16 or over if disabled).
-
Hold a driving licence that is valid for the UK (provisional, full, or an appropriate foreign licence).
-
Provide your instructor with proof of your valid licence before your first lesson. Failure to do so entitles your instructor to refuse the lesson, and you may still be charged for that lesson.
PAYING FOR LESSONS
Pre-paying with DDS
DDS operates its website and booking services to allow customers to purchase driving lesson packages with DDS driving instructors.
You (or someone on your behalf – see Notice below) can pay for lessons in advance via one of the following methods:
-
Payment by credit or debit card online.
-
Bank transfer or other accepted methods.
As part of its booking service, DDS confirms and agrees that the following terms (which constitute the terms of the DDS pre-payment scheme) shall apply to all pre-paid bookings:
-
Your funds (including any paid on your behalf) will be held by DDS in a designated Client Account, separate from the trading assets of DDS.
-
Funds held in the Client Account will only be used to pay your instructor once each lesson has been delivered or if a charge becomes payable due to cancellation/non-attendance (see Cancellation Policy).
-
Following each lesson, your instructor will confirm delivery to DDS. DDS will then send you an email detailing the instructor’s name, lesson duration, date, and time. If you disagree with any details, you must contact DDS within 72 hours to raise a dispute.
-
If no dispute is raised, the instructor will automatically receive payment from your funds.
-
If you have insufficient funds to cover lessons taken, you will be liable to pay the instructor directly.
-
Any interest accruing on Client Account funds will belong to DDS.
Notice to persons making pre-payments for another learner
Where payment is made by someone other than the learner (the “Non-Customer”), such payment shall be treated as if made by the learner. The Non-Customer shall have no entitlement to the funds or any interest thereon. Refunds and entitlements apply only to learners, in accordance with these terms.
LESSON BOOKINGS
-
Lessons must be booked directly with the instructor or through DDS systems.
-
Lesson times, locations, and durations must be agreed in advance.
-
Prices may vary depending on location, vehicle type (manual/automatic), or instructor availability.
CANCELLATION POLICY
-
You must give at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a lesson.
-
Failure to provide the required notice will result in the lesson being charged in full.
-
If your instructor cancels due to illness, vehicle issues, or severe weather, you will be offered an alternative booking or refund.
DRIVING TEST BOOKINGS
-
Your instructor will advise when you are ready to book your driving test.
-
If you book a test without instructor approval, DDS cannot guarantee the availability of the vehicle.
-
Use of the instructor’s car for a test is subject to an additional fee, payable in advance.
REFUND POLICY
-
Refunds for unused prepaid lessons will be processed upon request, minus any administrative fees.

Refunds are made only to the original payment method.
-
Prepaid lessons are valid for 6 months; unused funds after this period may be forfeited.
